Farm Technologies Division Technician

Our Farm Technologies Division delivers innovative solutions across:

  • Milking systems (automatic & conventional)
  • Feeding systems
  • Manure management
  • Digital herd management
  • Hygiene & service solutions

We support professional, resource-efficient dairy farming with integrated technologies designed to improve productivity, animal welfare, and milk quality.

Through GEA’s global dealer network, we provide a full-service offering, including industry-leading hygiene products and chemicals that promote optimal udder health and superior milk quality.


Responsibilities

  • Technical Service & Maintenance
    • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on Automatic Milking Systems (AMS) and Conventional Milking Systems (CMS)
    • Perform repairs, servicing, upgrades, and installations
    • Maintain and install slurry handling and manure management systems

  • On-Call Support

    • Take part in a rota providing out-of-hours technical support across your region
  • Documentation & Reporting

    • Complete service reports, record parts usage, and track time accurately
  • Quality, Safety & Compliance (QSHE)

    • Follow and promote best practices in safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Customer Service & Business Growth

    • Deliver excellent customer service
    • Represent Venture Dairy Services professionally
    • Build strong relationships with customers

Typical work involves farm visits (08:15 – 17:00) and office time in Honiton when not on-site.


Requirements / Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Comfortable using MS Office
  • Desirable: Experience as a Dairy Technician or background in electrical/mechanical engineering
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults
  • Full UK Category B driving licence (endorsements must be declared)
  • Willingness to travel across the Southwest (and occasionally to the Channel Islands)
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and farm environments
