Dalkia Scotshield is a UK-based technical and engineering services provider, operating as part of Dalkia UK (an EDF Group company). This vacancy forms part of their fire and security engineering division.

Job Description

PLEASE NOTE - The assessment day for this role is Tuesday, July 30th. Successful applicants will be invited to this day at Dalkia's Edinburgh office, please only apply if you are free on this date.

As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find on the following systems:

  • Access Control
  • Video Surveillance
  • Intruder Alarms
  • Fire Alarms

Entry Requirements

  • A UK driving license would be a bonus, but not essential for the right candidate
  • Any experience working with electrics would be a bonus, but not essential
  • Physically fit, and comfortable working at high and low heights
  • Willingness to learn and a genuine interest in learning more about the wider fire and security industry
  • National grade 5 (or equivalent) for English, Maths and Science, or above
  • Excellent timekeeping
  • Strong work ethic
  • Trustworthy
  • Excellent team player with fantastic customer service skills

You’ll train through block release at our Glasgow center, for one week every eight weeks (Tuesday–Friday).

You’ll work towards a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship, gaining real skills and a nationally recognised qualification.

What you’ll do as part of the programme:

  • Train hands-on with real systems
  • Learn from industry experts
  • Complete a wide range of tasks and projects
  • Build evidence from your job to support your learning
  • Sit annual assessments at the centre
