Damp and Mould Technician
We are looking for a Damp and Mould Technician to conduct comprehensive property inspections and develop detailed, accurate work specifications for all properties, applying advanced analytical skills. Collaborate with in-house teams, surveyors, and contractors to ensure that remedial DMC works are thoroughly documented and reported, facilitating the completion of these works to high standards, within designated timeframes and budgets, in alignment with key performance indicators (KPIs). Ensure customer support can be reliably delivered from all parts of the business. Perform a variety of tasks across multiple trade disciplines, maintaining a flexible approach to promote the efficiency and financial sustainability of the service provided.
What you'll be doing
- Conduct inspections of homes to identify the cause of damp, mould and/or condensation
- Undertake mould washing and other damp and mould treatment works, where required, to remove the risk of damp.
- Collaborate with and support all customers, including residents and leaseholders, over works to be carried out, to provide an excellent customer service which meets business objectives.
- Where appropriately trained, undertake to a good standard basic plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting and decorating works as required to complete repairs and renewals and ensure that works are delivered in a high standard, professional, customer focused and efficient way.
- Using appropriate technology to capture property information and diagnose remedial actions, identify follow on works and support needs, to be delivered by others, by raising jobs and tasks via the case-management system.
- Ensure that all system administration relating to work-in-progress, post inspection reports and health and safety inspections is accurate, up to date, accessible and comprehensive in line with data legislation and regulations. Act accordingly on findings and certify completed works in a timely manner.

What we are looking for
- Full, current manual driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
- City and Guilds Level 2 or NVQ 2 in a recognised building construction trade and/or equivalent demonstrable experience and acquired skills within the built environment.
- Ability to analyse building maintenance problems and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Demonstrate empathy and devise ways to support customers, so that they can continue to live safely in their homes
- Ability to demonstrate basic competency in a wide range of additional trade skills, eg, applying sealant, tiling, plumbing, glazing, groundworks, fencing.
- Good IT skills and prior use or understanding of mobile PDA devices.
- Ability to embrace change, work well under pressure and adapt/prioritise to meet the needs of the business.

Please note the office expectancy of this role is as follows: This role will require you to be out on site and visiting customers homes a majority of the time and the remainder of your admin tasks can be completed from the office.

- 25 days annual leave per annum, plus bank holidays, 3 extra days between Christmas and New Year and 1 wellbeing day per annum.
- 37 hours per week - employees may be able to work flexibly by agreement with their line manager, taking account of business need. We operate a hybrid working policy at Delta Housing Ltd.
