Data Accountant (12month FTC)

Data Accountant – Fixed Term Contract Role (12 Months) – Manchester

The Opportunity

The Data Accountant is a 12-month fixed term contract within the Record-to-Report (RTR) function of Global Finance Services (GFS). The role is based in Manchester.

The position sits within the RTR function, taking ownership of financial data integrity, quality, and continuous improvement across the GFS operating model. This role demands a hybrid blend of analytical acumen, finance operations expertise, and forward-thinking innovation—particularly in driving AI adoption and data-driven processes throughout GFS.

The Role

This is a finance-forward role requiring a hands-on specialist with RTR process knowledge, financial controls experience, and strong technical skills. The ideal candidate should:

  • Have experience in period-end close, SOX compliance, and data analysis.
  • Demonstrate proficient fluency in Power BI and AI tools.
  • Be able to operate cross-functionally while communicating findings to CFO-level stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of self-service reporting infrastructure in support of GFS’s financial need.

The role aligns with Inizio’s commitment to reimagining health through data-driven innovation, where financial integrity directly contributes to strategic decision-making.

Role Responsibilities

🔧 Controls & RTR

  • Execute and report on SOX journal testing (aligned with RTR-2.6.1), document findings, and drive remediation of identified issues.
  • Maintain the GFS controls framework, including Control Self-Assessments (CSA) programs and monitoring compliance.
  • Monitor reconciliation completion and quality during month-end cycles, reporting final status to GFS leadership.
  • Collaborate with Intelligent Enterprises to ensure ARCS master data accuracy and reconciliation automation optimization.
  • Flag and escalate data integrity issues (e.g., supplier/customer master data inconsistencies) that affect financial reporting accuracy.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing clean, well-documented data extracts.

📊 Variance Reporting & Analytics

The centrepiece of this role is designing, building, and maintaining a self-service variance reporting suite for monthly and quarterly financial analysis.

Primary Deliverables Include:

  • Monthly P&L reporting packs: Analyzing month-on-month (MoM) actuals movements by cost centre and GFS process tower (RTR, PTP, OTC), with exception commentary frameworks for accountant reviews.
  • Monthly Balance Sheet packs: Tracking MoM movements by entity, including ageing analysis and reconciliation status.
  • Quarterly packs: Performing QoQ and YoY trend analysis with narrative reports for GFS leadership ecosystems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
