Data Analyst - Data Team
Join our Data Team at Mills & Reeve and make a real impact by turning complex data into actionable business insights.
The Role
We’re looking for a talented Data Analyst to join our Data Team within the wider Legal Tech & Data department. Reporting to the Data Team Leader, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the firm to:
- Understand business needs and transform data into meaningful insights
- Develop innovative business intelligence solutions using Microsoft technologies
- SQL Server
- Microsoft Fabric
- Power BI
- Excel
- Play a key role in helping the firm make data-driven decisions
- Deliver impactful reporting and analytics that support teams across Mills & Reeve
The Person
Key Requirements
Strong technical expertise across the Microsoft BI technology stack, including:
- SQL Server
- SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
- SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Microsoft Fabric
- Excel
Proven experience in:
- Power BI report development
- Data modelling & business intelligence best practices
- Relational databases
Commercial & Professional Fit
- Commercially aware with strong financial and accounting knowledge
- Understanding of the legal sector and its reporting requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to build trust, manage expectations, and work across all levels
- Proactive problem-solver who prioritises effectively and delivers high-quality outcomes to deadlines

The Activities
- Support stakeholders across the firm to understand reporting and information needs
- Translate business requirements into effective data & BI solutions
- Design, develop and maintain data warehouse and business intelligence solutions
- Focus on Power BI reporting & analytics
- Support the firm’s migration from a SQL Data Warehouse to Microsoft Fabric Data Lakehouse
- Help shape our evolving data platform
- Create and maintain reporting solutions
- Dashboards, ad hoc analysis, and finance-focused data models
- Promote and support Power BI adoption across the business
- Enable self-service reporting and data-driven decision-making
- Actively engage in personal and professional development
- Build technical expertise and business knowledge through training and on-the-job learning
