Salary: £32,616 per annum
Location: Hybrid working from York, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Cambridge, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth or London
Contract: Fixed-term
Hours: One full-time position and one part-time position available
Interview period: Week commencing 24 August 2026

Overview

Our client is a UK based public organisation working to protect, understand and promote England’s historic environment. They are seeking two Data Analysts to support a major marine heritage data project. The roles will focus on transforming detailed information generated through marine development and seabed surveys into consistent, accurate and accessible spatial records.

You will process, enhance and analyse large geospatial datasets, helping ensure that marine heritage information can be used effectively by researchers, specialists, decision-makers and project partners. This opportunity would suit someone with professional experience working with marine, environmental, archaeological or heritage data who is confident using databases, spreadsheets, geographic information systems and coding tools.

Responsibilities

  • Process, clean and standardise large marine and heritage datasets.
  • Transform detailed survey information into accessible spatial records.
  • Record and enhance geospatial information generated through seabed surveys.
  • Maintain accurate information within marine data systems and historic environment records.
  • Analyse spatial datasets to identify relevant features, patterns and heritage information.
  • Use geographic information systems to manage, interrogate and present marine data.
  • Work with databases and spreadsheets to organise, validate and maintain records.
  • Use coding languages such as R or Python to support data processing, automation and analysis.
  • Use data transformation software to convert information between formats and systems.
  • Interpret outputs from seabed survey systems used in marine heritage work.
  • Apply relevant UK standards, frameworks and terminology when recording marine data.
  • Ensure heritage assets, interventions and information sources are recorded consistently.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks and resolve data inconsistencies.
  • Produce clear documentation explaining data processing methods and outputs.
  • Work collaboratively with technical specialists, project colleagues and external partners.
  • Support delivery against project objectives, milestones and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, consistency and attention to detail.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
