Data should drive decisions, not sit in spreadsheets gathering dust. If you believe that too, we want to talk to you.
BSS, part of the Travis Perkins Group, is looking for a Data Analyst to play a central role in the management and migration of our master data as part of a major ERP programme. This is not a back office number-crunching job. It is hands-on, high-visibility work that shapes how the business manages its product and supplier information for years to come.
From day one you can expect to be trusted with real responsibility, because this role genuinely matters to the success of the business.
What you'll be doing
You will be the person who turns raw, messy data into something the business can actually trust and act on. Day to day, that means:
- Using automated tools to extract master data from primary and secondary sources, then analysing it to understand and improve data quality
- Owning data governance, including managing dependencies across projects and the wider TP Group
- Keeping the project on track by monitoring the schedule and phasing, flagging progress and challenges clearly along the way
- Supporting the business with data cleanse activities using internal software and portals
- Translating stakeholder requirements into clear reporting documentation, and preparing final analysis reports that help leaders make confident, fact-based decisions
- Supporting the wider group on a single solution for product and supplier master data management
- Running user acceptance testing across the data stream, including documentation, communication and issue resolution

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
