About The Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Analyst to join Nando's dynamic Data and Analysis team. This role is pivotal in transforming raw data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across various departments. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, business stakeholders, and support teams, to develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports. You will be instrumental in enhancing our data maturity, advancing predictive analytics, and exploring innovative AI applications to drive business growth. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a data-driven culture within a global organization committed to innovation and excellence.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in data analysis, with proven experience in SQL, data modeling, and BI tools. A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake or Dataform, and BI tools like Looker or similar. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, and a solid understanding of data governance principles, are essential. Additionally, experience with statistical methods, AI-assisted coding tools, and a proactive approach to process improvement will be highly valued. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex data into clear narratives are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL models to transform and serve reliable data across our pipelines, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to design, build, and test scalable data processing pipelines that support business needs.
  • Create and refine cloud-based reports and dashboards in Looker or similar BI tools, providing support teams and restaurant managers with actionable insights into operational and financial performance.
  • Translate complex business questions into well-defined analysis scopes, understanding the underlying domain to deliver meaningful solutions.
  • Present findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, using appropriate communication mediums to tell compelling data stories.
  • Conduct peer reviews of colleagues' work, contribute to data quality standards, and document data models, definitions, and lineage comprehensively.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual data processes, take initiative to implement improvements, and support ongoing data quality initiatives.
  • Support the design, coding, and testing of data pipelines, ensuring alignment with data governance and security standards.
  • Apply statistical techniques to enhance analysis quality and support predictive modeling efforts, including exploring AI and machine learning applications responsibly.
