The Role: Healthcare Data Analyst
As a member of the Healthcare Team, the Healthcare Data Analyst is key to improving healthcare systems by analysing, interpreting, and presenting healthcare data. This role supports a wide range of healthcare organizations by leveraging NEC’s accumulated healthcare data to:
- Identify reporting requirements from customers, prospects, and NEC staff
- Develop and test reports using Power BI, SQL Server, or other reporting tools aligned with customer and market needs
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for reported data to ensure accuracy and integrity
- Apply market knowledge and customer intelligence to create reports that enhance value for NEC’s propositions and the broader healthcare sector
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement data analyses to support decision-making within healthcare
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders—including healthcare professionals and partners—to clarify data needs
- Use advanced SQL querying, Power BI, and analytical techniques to produce insightful reports
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance in final deliverables
- Stay informed on industry trends and healthcare data standards (e.g. HES data analysis)
Requirements
Essential:
- A robust background in data analysis, interpretation, and presentation
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft SQL database querying and automation
- Experience navigating stakeholder-engagement in a service-oriented environment (supplier or internal role)
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard reporting tools like Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Business acumen and proven ability to build rapport and credibility with clients, partners, and colleagues—including healthcare practitioners and academics
- Design and debug complex ** datasets** with scalabilité—using advanced tools and custom pipelines
- Self-motivated, goal-orientated, and results-driven
- Naturally adaptable, with a creative and lateral-thinking approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication for varied audiences and media
- Strong working knowledge of Health and Social Care system data (e.g. HES, NHS)
- Capable of operating autonomously while understanding operational constraints
