Asset Data and Assurance Analyst

About the Role

The Asset Data and Assurance Analyst is responsible for maintaining the integrity, quality, and governance of asset and maintenance data that supports the effective operation of water and wastewater infrastructure. This role works closely with internal stakeholders to manage asset records, analyze data, improve reporting processes, and provide valuable insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.

Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom (Onsite)

Key Responsibilities

Asset Data Management

  • Maintain accurate asset and maintenance master data within corporate systems.
  • Create, update, modify, and retire asset records as required.
  • Ensure asset information is complete, accurate, and compliant with governance standards.
  • Maintain data integrity across asset management systems.
  • Support ongoing asset lifecycle management activities.
  • Perform regular data validation and quality assurance checks.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Extract, analyze, and interpret asset and maintenance data.
  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports for operational and business stakeholders.
  • Identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for data improvement.
  • Develop meaningful insights that support business decision-making.
  • Present technical findings in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Support performance monitoring through data analysis.

Asset Maintenance Support

  • Assist with the allocation and optimization of maintenance plans.
  • Support maintenance scheduling through accurate asset information.
  • Ensure maintenance records remain current and reliable.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to improve maintenance data quality.
  • Monitor asset performance information to support maintenance planning.

Data Governance & Process Improvement

  • Promote best practices for asset data governance and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for asset data processes.
  • Recommend improvements to data management procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across asset management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational data standards and policies.
  • Contribute to system enhancements and data quality initiatives.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Provide guidance and support on asset data and SAP Plant Maintenance processes.
  • Collaborate with operational, engineering, and business teams.
  • Respond to stakeholder requests for asset information and reporting.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Support business projects through data provision and system updates.
  • Build productive working relationships across multiple departments.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience working with asset data, reporting, or information management.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience managing and maintaining large datasets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collect, manipulate, and interpret complex data accurately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with Power BI or Databricks.
  • Experience developing dashboards and data visualizations.
  • Background in utilities, infrastructure, engineering, or asset management.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles and asset management practices.
  • Experience supporting enterprise reporting and business intelligence initiatives.
