Data Analyst – Hybrid Role (3 Days in Manchester, 2 Days Remote)

Purpose of the Role

As a Data Analyst in the Data and Innovation team, you will be a strategic driver of our data-centric culture, transforming complex datasets into actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze data from our lakes and various sources to inform strategy, product optimisation, and customer engagement.
  • Data Storytelling & Influence: Lead cross-functional discussions to shape products/service direction based on customer behaviour and market trends.
  • Centralised Analytics Framework: Develop/maintain systems ensuring data-driven decisions across the company.
  • Predictive & Advanced Analytics: Create models to assess potential business impacts.
  • Tool & Technique Mastery: Stay current with SQL, Snowflake, Python, Power BI, Google Analytics, and emerging data practices.
  • Foster Collaboration: Bridge technical analysis and strategic initiatives while promoting knowledge sharing and improvement.

Your work will deliver enhanced customer experiences, optimised offerings, and measurable growth. You'll help build a legacy of data excellence—positioning interactive investor as a leader in data-led financial platforms.


Responsibilities

Core Tasks

  • Data Analysis & Insight Generation
    • Extract/analyze data to support strategic decision-making.
  • BI & MI Reporting
    • Design, automate, and maintain dashboards and reports ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Reporting Automation
    • Use SQL, Python, Power BI to streamline analytical processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Partner with teams (Product, Commercial, Tech, Customer Services, Operations) to align data needs with org-wide improvements.
  • KPI Development & Tracking
    • Set/manage key performance metrics and insights across departments.
  • Tools & Platform Proficiency
    • Leverage: SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, Google Analytics, Usabilla, Optimizely, ContentSquare, Hotjar.
  • Data Science & AI
    • Apply statistical modeling, segmentation, time series analysis, predictive techniques.
    • Be a power user of AI/ML platforms for productivity gains.
  • Cross-Channel Analysis
    • Integrate multi-system data with subject matter experts.
  • Technical Leadership
    • Mentor colleagues in best practices and analytical techniques.
  • Data Governance & Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to privacy/safety regulations.
  • Performance & Innovation
    • Drive continuous improvement through new analytical tools.
  • Teamwork & Problem-Solving
    • Collaborate on projects, resolve challenges, and meet deadlines.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Analytics Background: Preference for experience in commercial/digital products/industries.
  • Technical Skills
    • SQL, data visualization (Power BI, Google Data Studio, Looker, Streamlit/Python).
    • Google Marketing Cloud (Tag Manager, Analytics, Search Console).
    • Statistical knowledge and experience in data modeling/architecture.
  • Data Science Expertise
    • Statistical modeling, segmentation, predictive modeling, time-series analysis.
  • Tools for AI/ML Proficiency (use existing platforms to enhance workflows).
  • Collaborative & Communication Skills
    • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical teams.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Build relationships across departments.
  • Problem-Solving & Attention to Detail
    • Multitasking while delivering high-quality results under deadlines.
  • KPI & Project Experience
    • Familiarity with success metrics and hands-on project work.
