About The Role
The Finance Data Analyst role is a newly created position within a prominent live entertainment organization based in Central London. This hybrid position offers an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled and analytically driven individual to contribute to the development and enhancement of the company's financial data infrastructure. The successful candidate will serve as a crucial link between the finance and data engineering teams, translating financial requirements into effective data solutions. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing the Group’s data systems, improving data quality, and enabling the finance team to generate accurate reports, forecasts, and analyses with confidence. The role is ideal for professionals with a strong finance background who are eager to expand their technical expertise in data management, reporting, and system improvement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of financial principles, including double-entry bookkeeping and profit & loss statements. A background in finance, accounting, or a related field is essential, with either part-qualification or full qualification as an accountant being advantageous. Candidates should have working knowledge of data structures, data flow processes, and familiarity with data warehouses and reporting layers. Experience or exposure to coding or query languages such as DAX, SQL, or Python is desirable, with a willingness to learn new skills. Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX development and data modelling best practices, is required. Strong communication skills are essential for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate high proficiency in Excel, especially when working with complex datasets. Desirable qualifications include experience with TM1 Planning Analytics, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Microsoft Fabric. Prior experience in enterprise reporting, data lakes, or finance functions will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Commercial Finance team and Data Engineering, translating financial needs into technical data solutions and managing development priorities.
- Support the ongoing development and administration of the Global Finance Datalake and Forecasting & Budgeting (FaB) tools, including managing user access, process configuration, and governance protocols.
- Collaborate with finance stakeholders across the organization to resolve system issues, share best practices, and enhance data tools and processes.
- Oversee data hygiene initiatives and manage manual data feeds while supporting the transition towards increased automation.
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards, utilizing DAX and data modelling techniques to ensure insightful and accurate reporting.
- Assist in the operation, governance, and further development of other commercial finance data tools, including TM1 Planning Analytics and Microsoft Fabric.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within finance data workflows and contribute to system enhancements that increase efficiency and data integrity.

Benefits
The organization offers a competitive salary range of £35,000 to £40,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
