About The Role
We are excited to partner with a global organization located in Watford, which is currently seeking a dedicated Data Analyst to join their team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in data analysis, with a strong ability to handle large datasets, interpret complex data, and communicate insights effectively. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making processes related to pricing and promotions, supporting the business in maximizing commercial value. The successful candidate will be expected to start around mid to late August, working Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, with the flexibility of one day working from home per week. The role involves working with systems such as Alteryx, Excel, and Tableau, and offers a competitive salary ranging from £45,000 to £52,000 depending on experience.
Qualifications
The suitable candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset complemented by technical proficiency in data tools and software. Essential qualifications include advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with Tableau, Alteryx, or similar analytical platforms. A proven track record of mining and manipulating large datasets to generate actionable insights is vital. Candidates should demonstrate excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data management and reporting. A proactive attitude towards learning new systems and continuous improvement is highly desirable. Strong communication skills are necessary to explain complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders. Additionally, the candidate should be capable of working collaboratively across multiple teams, managing competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Drive visibility, transparency, and analytical rigor across promotional and pricing decisions to inform strategic initiatives.
- Support the development and implementation of consistent promotional decision-making processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Contribute to pricing and promotional strategies, ensuring they deliver maximum commercial value and measurable business impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and marketing, to tailor promotional plans and provide pricing insights that support business growth.
- Own the collection, integration, and management of large quantitative and qualitative datasets, including sales, financial, consumer, economic, and competitor data.
- Prepare, validate, and manage datasets for analytical tools, working closely with Key Account Managers and other stakeholders to ensure data integrity.
- Perform data quality and consistency checks, including reconciliation against P&L data, to maintain accuracy and reliability.
- Maintain and upload data within reporting platforms such as Excel, Tableau, and Alteryx, ensuring datasets are current and accurate for analysis.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable recommendations that support pricing and promotional decisions.
- Support the development and dissemination of best practices and guidelines related to promotional pricing across the organization.
- Produce comprehensive monthly reports on pricing and promotional activities, including competitor activity and pricing scorecards.
- Present insights and findings clearly to both technical teams and business stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
