About This Role
Crystal Palace FC are seeking a Data Analyst to join the First-Team Analysis and Recruitment staff. This is an exciting opportunity for a curious and technically minded individual to help shape the next generation of our data capabilities, combining football knowledge, statistical thinking, and modern technology to actively assist performance and recruitment decisions.
Responsibilities
- Support and improve analytical workflows, performing in-depth analysis on diverse datasets from football matches across the world.
- Collaborate with the Performance Analysis and Recruitment departments to develop new metrics and enhance our understanding of team and player performance.
- Develop analytical solutions, including data models, dashboards, and visualisations, using modern analytics and reporting technologies.
- Present statistically-driven case studies on potential transfer targets.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.
- Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.

- Completed an undergraduate degree in a STEM or related quantitative discipline.
- Demonstrable proficiency in programming languages such as R and/or Python.
- Experience building data models and creating reports in data visualisation software such as Power BI.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve analytical workflows, coding, documentation, or problem-solving (desirable).
- Experience working with data in the football industry in a similar role (desirable).
- A clear interest in football, along with an awareness of football data analytics within the sport and recent trends in data science.
- A high level of initiative, motivation and excellent attention to detail.
- Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to tailor presentations to different audiences.
- Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and develop intra/inter departmental relationships.
- Committed to continual professional development.
- Able to respond positively to change in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
- The candidate must have availability to run/monitor reporting in non-traditional hours.
