About the Role

ATG Entertainment is seeking a Finance Data Analyst to join its Commercial Finance team based in London. This role bridges finance, business intelligence, and data engineering, serving as the primary liaison between the Commercial Finance department and the Group Data Engineering team.

The successful candidate will help develop and maintain the organization's commercial finance data infrastructure, improve data governance and reporting, and support budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis. This position is ideal for someone who combines strong financial knowledge with technical expertise in data analytics and business intelligence.

Working closely with Finance Product Owners, Data Engineers, and Commercial Finance stakeholders, you will play a key role in supporting digital transformation initiatives, automating reporting processes, and enabling data-driven business decisions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between Commercial Finance and the Data Engineering team.
  • Translate finance requirements into scalable data and reporting solutions.
  • Administer and maintain the Global Finance Data Lake and Forecasting & Budgeting (FaB) platform.
  • Manage user access, governance, configuration, and system administration.
  • Maintain data quality, integrity, and governance across finance systems.
  • Manage interim manual data feeds while supporting automation initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Develop DAX calculations, KPIs, and financial reporting models.
  • Support TM1 Planning Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, and enterprise finance systems.
  • Troubleshoot data and reporting issues while collaborating with finance stakeholders.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and data reporting.
  • Support finance transformation projects involving AI-powered reporting and automation.
  • Promote continuous improvement in reporting processes, data architecture, and system performance.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping and profit & loss reporting.
  • Advanced Power BI development skills.
  • Strong knowledge of DAX and data modelling best practices.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or similar data query/programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouses, data lakes, and reporting architectures.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial and data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with HTML is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for data quality and automation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Part-qualified or fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA certification is preferred.
  • Experience developing Power BI dashboards and financial reporting solutions.
  • Practical knowledge of DAX, SQL, Python, and financial data modelling.
  • Experience working with enterprise reporting platforms and data lake environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Fabric, or TM1 Planning Analytics is preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting finance teams or commercial finance functions is highly desirable.
  • Experience within retail, hospitality, leisure, entertainment, or multi-site businesses is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
