Role: Data Analyst (Part-Time or Consultancy)
Location: Home-Based (with occasional travel to Hampshire and the Home Counties)
Contract Type: Self-Employed Consultant or PAYE Employee
Time Commitment: Approximately 1 day per week
About Us
We are a growing hospitality business, operating a portfolio of premium pubs, restaurants, and hotels across Southern England. We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Data Analyst to help unlock the power of our data and deliver meaningful insights that support operational and financial decision-making.
This role is an ideal opportunity for:
- An independent consultant seeking a flexible ongoing engagement
- An experienced analyst looking for a highly flexible part-time PAYE role
The Role
You will work closely with our senior leadership team, responsible for:
- Extracting, analysing, and presenting data from multiple business systems
- Producing accurate, insightful, and actionable reports
- Helping optimise sales performance, labour costs, guest behaviour, hotel performance, and operational trends through:
- Creation of dashboards
- Automated reporting tools
- Analytical workflows

- Produce regular and ad-hoc reports from key business systems, including:
- Zonal EPOS
- Zonal Hotel Solutions (ZHS)
- S4 Labour Scheduling and Payroll
- Design and maintain Power BI dashboards for operational and financial reporting
- Develop automated reporting processes using Microsoft Power Automate
- Create and maintain advanced Excel reporting models and pivot tables
- Analyse sales, labour, payroll, accommodation, and guest data to identify:
- Trends
- Opportunities
- Areas for improvement
- Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to:
- Understand reporting requirements
- Provide actionable recommendations
- Improve reporting efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility across the business
- Support strategic projects via:
- Detailed analysis
- Insight generation
About You
We are looking for an experienced analyst who can:
- Work independently
- Translate complex data into meaningful business insights
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience using Power BI
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- Pivot tables
- Power Query
- Complex formulae
- Experience using Microsoft Power Automate
- Proven ability to:
- Build dashboards
- Construct management reporting packs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to communicate findings effectively to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working with:
- Payroll, labour, operational, or financial data

Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience in hospitality, leisure, hotels, or retail
- Familiarity with Zonal systems (EPOS, ZHS)
- Knowledge of S4 labour scheduling and payroll systems
- Understanding of hospitality KPIs, including:
- Labour management
- Commercial performance reporting
