Data Analyst Your new role


We’re looking for a mid-level Data Analyst with 3–5+ years of commercial experience in a data analytics role, ideally within a fast-paced, data-driven business.

As a Data Analyst at Global, you’ll combine your curiosity for insight and your enthusiasm for delivering effective analytical solutions to help evolve Global’s market-leading business.


Key Responsibilities

(Work allocation reflective of broader role expectations)

  • Building analytical solutions (40%)

    • Develop a deep understanding of the business to gather requirements and create innovative analytical solutions that fulfil those needs.
    • Exemplify proficiency in insightful data visualisations (predominantly using Tableau) within reports and deliverables.
  • Problem-solving in data processes (30%)

    • Adapt to a rapidly evolving data landscape, identify root causes of emerging issues, and devise efficient solutions.
    • Leverage strong problem-solving skills to support other teams through collaboration and clear communication.
  • Professional development & team support (30%)

    • Adopt a continuous learning mindset to refine methodologies and expand perspectives, realising personal growth.
    • Mentor and uplift team members to ensure collective excellence, building a cohesive unit greater than the sum of its parts.

What Success Looks Like (In Your First Few Months)

You’ll establish foundational achievements, including:

  • A deep understanding of Global’s business operating model (focusing initially on DAX) with cross-reference insights across classic audio, outdoor and consumer divisions.
  • Knowledge of main data warehouses, systems, and workflows used by your team squad.
  • Hands-on experience with data through projects like building solutions, testing data outputs, or answering business questions.
  • Meaningful engagement with team members/business stakeholders to grasp ongoing projects and workstreams in DAX, contributing ideas to guide team direction.

Requirements

Experience

  • 3–5+ years in a Data Analyst or similar role within a commercial environment.
  • Proven track record of owning analytical projects from the first requirement through delivery and stakeholder presentation.
  • Practical experience with large, complex datasets within a data-driven commercial context.

Skills & Mindset

  • Analytical Mindset: Inquisitive, critical thinker—questioning assumptions of yourself and others, dissecting systems to identify actionable insights.
  • Attention to Detail: Fastidious, meticulous problem-solving ability that accurately diagnoses root causes and prescribes appropriate solutions.
  • Visualisation Expertise: Creative proficiency with BI tools (such as Tableau/ Power BI) and query languages (SQL for querying/ data wrangling).
  • Collaboration & Communication: Cultivates an inclusive environment by valuing diverse inputs while championing team growth. Skilled at simplifying complex concepts for articulate stakeholder communication.
