Good things this way As part of our Data & Analytics Industrial Placement, you’ll develop valuable skills and knowledge in data and analytics, all based within our high-performing Mortgage teams. Our Mortgage teams’ ambition is to provide the best mortgage service in the UK and to help more people into homes of their own. You’ll also gain exposure to product pricing, performance, customer research and process improvement. Our Industrial Placements all provide a valuable opportunity to prepare for our Skills Development Programmes, an ideal next step for when you finish university. Where you’ll be working Our Mortgages function brings together 3,000 colleagues, all working towards our mission to provide the best mortgage service in the UK. You’ll spend 12 months within one of our Mortgage Products or Business Services teams. You’ll build skills in trend analysis, reporting, insight generation, and explore the use of AI and machine learning to support decision-making. What you’ll be doing Our Data & Analytics Industrial Placement is a 12-month programme where you’ll gain valuable skills, knowledge, and experience to support your future career in banking. You’ll focus on developing product knowledge, monitoring performance, and working on projects involving product design, customer research, and process improvement. You’ll work within the Mortgage Product and Business Services teams, where you’ll build skills in: Mortgage pricing, learning how we price our products to meet member needs whilst delivering the right commercial return Product development, helping us launch new products to meet member needs Data and insight; building skills in data analytics to help us understand our customers better Customer management, ensuring our products meet customer needs, deliver fair outcomes and operate in line with regulations We’ll help you develop your analytical skills and commercial judgement, as well as giving you the opportunity to take insight and proposal papers to senior leaders and committees. You’ll gain operational and administrative skills, and your own individual learning pathway to help you get the most from your time with us. You’ll also attend development workshops and complete a project with other placement colleagues, to support our Social Impact strategy. Location At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected. For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, based at either our Bournemouth, Swindon, London or Northampton office.
