Job Description

Job Title: Data Analytics & Insight Generation

Location: London

Corporate Title: Assistant Vice President

About the Role

We are seeking an Assistant Vice President with knowledge of Investment Banking Operations and a track record of developing data-driven insights, products, and tooling to support the business. This could have been either internally as part of Middle/Back-office operations or externally as a consultant.

You will play a key role in evolving our operational landscape. This involves combining a “data-centric” approach when collaborating with operations colleagues to understand activities and workflow - uncovering critical insights and facilitate measurable improvements.

This position involves hands-on development (SQL, Python, Looker), straddling business analysis, technology, and data science. It focuses on pioneering rapid turnaround quantitative solutions to enhance efficiency, mitigate risk, and identify new opportunities across operations globally.

What we’ll offer you

  • Hybrid Working: We understand that employee expectations and preferences are changing. We have implemented a model that enables eligible employees to work remotely for a part of their working time and reach a working pattern that works for them.
  • Competitive salary and non-contributory pension
  • 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional days
  • Life Assurance and Private Healthcare for you and your family
  • A range of flexible benefits including Retail Discounts, a Bike4Work scheme, and Gym benefits
  • The opportunity to support a wide-ranging CSR programme + 2 days’ volunteering leave per year

Your key responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, analyze, and translate complex data patterns into compelling, actionable insights that directly influence business decisions within IBO.
  • Apply a rigorous and structured approach to problem-solving, leveraging sophisticated techniques to navigate and interpret large-scale datasets (spanning hundreds of millions of records).
  • Partner with business, technology, and product teams to deconstruct business questions, propose structured problem-solving approaches, and define clear success metrics.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable workflows to analyze trade & workflow datasets to pinpoint business problems, emerging trends, inefficiencies, anomalies, and behavioral shifts - quantifying their impact to inform strategic interventions.
  • Articulate complex analytical insights through compelling narratives, intuitive dashboards, and impactful visualizations, tailored for diverse financial markets stakeholders to facilitate understanding and drive action.
  • Explore and support the evolution of reactive products into preventative AI/ML tooling where identified patterns suggest actionable interventions, contributing to the bank's digital transformation journey.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
