You will be skilled in maintaining relationships with stakeholders and you will be fully committed to working closely with users to understand their needs. And you will have a proven track record of managing teams and individuals.

Audit Wales Is The Independent Public Sector Audit Body Within Wales. We Hold a Unique Position Within The Welsh Public Sector, Where Our Role Is To:

  • Assure the people of Wales that public money is being managed well through our annual audit of public sector accounts.
  • Explain how public money is being used and how it meets people’s needs through our Value for Money studies.
  • Inspire and empower those with whom we work to continuously improve by sharing initiatives and best practice.

What it’s like to work in the Data Analytics team

Audit Wales’s data vision, Making Data Count, sets out an ambition for us to become a data literate organisation where good data is prevalent in our work. It aims to data-enable our audit work, saving time for auditors and improving audit quality by facilitating better decisions. And it aims for data-rich audit products to increase our reach to wider audiences, providing new depths of insight, and driving accountability, transparency and improvement in the public sector.

The DA team at Audit Wales is passionate about data and is responsible for providing expertise and leadership to drive delivery of the data vision. We work on a wide range of fascinating and innovative data projects, working closely in collaboration with our audit colleagues.

Our assessment process

The sift and subsequent interview and assessment stages will review the following criteria.

It would also be desirable for the role holder to demonstrate these criteria:

  • An interest in artificial intelligence (AI), with experience of using AI models in their work.
  • Experience of horizon scanning, demonstrating an ongoing interest in emerging technologies.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Copilot, with a working knowledge of strengths and weaknesses
