Analytics Manager – Data Products at Tesco
hackajob and Tesco collaboration: We’re connecting Tesco with exceptional professionals for this critical Analytics Manager role.
About the Role
The Analytics Capabilities team develops and manages data products driving intelligent experiences, decisions, and actions across the Tesco ecosystem. Working closely with business (Stores, Finance, People, Customer, Commercial) and technology teams, we enable the seamless build, consumption, integration, and expansion of Data & AI capabilities.
This is an opportunity to join our team and take a leading role in defining, building, and launching high-impact data products that drive Tesco’s business and support colleagues.
Work arrangement: Hybrid role with 3 days on-site (London & Welwyn Garden City offices), balancing flexibility and collaboration.

Learn, build, and optimise scalable, secure, and high-quality data products supporting data-driven decision-making across Tesco.

2. Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing analytics team, fostering a culture of growth, inclusion, and technical excellence.
- Focus on data-savvy and advanced analytics culture.
3. Data Product Development
- Lead end-to-end design, development, and optimisation of:
- Scalable data pipelines & orchestration tools (Spark, Dremio, Airflow).
- Analytical models for advanced analytics, ML, and operational use cases.
- Translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
4. Collaboration & Technical Excellence
- Work cross-functionally (data science, engineering, product, business) to deliver impactful solutions.
- Promote standards (engineering effectiveness, data quality, security) across squads.
5. AI-Assisted Analytics
- Drive AI/ML adoption in data products; proactively explore and implement AI capabilities.
6. Data Governance & Compliance
- Maintain data lineage, cataloguing, and access controls ensuring:
- Ethical use, discoverability, and compliance.
7. Continuous Improvement
- Drive excellence in:
- Delivery speed & product quality
- Reduce defects & time-to-fix
- Innovate in business practices and workflows.
8. Stakeholder & Talent Development
- Communicate complex analytics to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and talent development:
- Identify skill gaps; upskill or join teams to adopt software engineering, AI, automation.

What You’ll Need
Technical Proficiency
-
Robust data product development experience (actionable, scalable).
-
SQL expertise: Spark, Dremio, Teradata, or similar.

Business Intelligence & Visualisation: Tableau, ETL frameworks.

Hands-on with Python, GitHub, Airflow, Oozie for:
- Data wrangling, pipeline-building, and analytical/web interfaces.

Full data lifecycle knowledge:
-/data governance, -/quality, -/security

Commercial aperture: Produce outputs for technical & non-technical stakeholders.
People & Communication
- Data storytelling: Translate insights into impactful presentations.
- Multi-disciplinary collaboration: Align technical rigor with business value.
