A leading London Market insurer is looking for a technically strong Data & Analytics Manager to play a key role in the evolution of its enterprise data platform.
This is not a traditional people management role and equally not a purely hands-on Data Engineering position. Instead, you'll act as the technical authority across the data platform, influencing architecture, ensuring engineering best practice, and holding external delivery partners accountable for the quality of their solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing technical ownership across the organisation's cloud data and analytics platform
- Supporting the continued development of a modern Medallion (Bronze, Silver, Gold) Lakehouse architecture
- Driving best practice across BigQuery, data modelling, data quality, governance, and engineering standards
- Reviewing solution designs and challenging external MSPs and consultancies to ensure high-quality delivery
- Acting as the technical escalation point across Data Engineering and Analytics projects
- Influencing architecture decisions across cloud data platforms and enterprise analytics
- Partnering with business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable data solutions
- Supporting enterprise reporting, analytics, and self-service BI capabilities
- Championing modern engineering principles, documentation, testing, CI/CD, and production best practice
- Helping shape the future roadmap of the organisation's Data & Analytics function

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
