About the Opportunity

EY’s Global Tax Centre of Excellence (CoE) Data & AI team lead transformative initiatives that integrate Data & AI as core capabilities. This role focuses on architecting reusable patterns and process blueprints to standardise scalability across EY Tax technology teams globally.

You’ll have the chance to pioneer AI-driven tax workflows, shaping the future of tax services for EY and its clients.


Role Purpose

The Data & AI Lead sits at the intersection of tax domain expertise, data architecture/engineering, and applied AI & agent orchestration. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring trusted, well-structured data fuels AI agents for scalable, client-ready deployments.
  • Designing agentic workflows that enhance tax processes with AI-driven automation, human oversight, and feedback systems.

Key Responsibilities

Agentic Workflow & AI Design

  • Architect AI-augmented tax workflows with:
    • Clear task-level agent responsibilities
    • Agent communication/logical flow patterns
    • Human-in-the-loop and escalation protocols
    • Agent performance feedback loops and monitoring
  • Standardise reusable agent blueprints tied to Lean-process frameworks
  • Pioneering methodologies such as:
    • Use of GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Factory AI for agent automation

Data Architecture & AI-Ready Data Products

  • Design and scale tax-focused data marts:
    • Optimised for grain/granularity requirements
    • Rigorous data lineage, governance, and quality controls
    • Support for deterministic and probabilistic reasoning
  • Orchestrate data ingestion/transformation from:
    • ERP systems
    • Tax platforms
    • Semi-structured documents/pdfs and external datasets

Agent Governance & Security

  • Develop agile governance models for agents and workflows:
    • Ensure client compliance/integration (e.g., Microsoft Agent 365)
    • Embed real-time risk monitoring and controls
    • Cure interoperability with EY-hosted and third-party tools

Platform Strategy

  • Deliver deployable AI-asset solutions across:
    • Client environments (e.g. ServiceNow integrated workflows)
    • EY’s hosted platforms
  • Ensure reusable intellectual property (IP) through:
    • Agent blueprints
    • Data mart templates
    • Orchestration/logic assets
    • Security & governance patterns

CoE & Asset Development

  • Act as technical authority guiding:
    • Reference architecture standards
    • Proof-of-concept (PoC) pilots
    • Scalable multi-client deployments

Required Experience & Background

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent work experience. Advanced certifications in AI, ML, cloud, or data engineering a plus.
  • 15+ years’ experience spanning:
    • Data architecture
    • Data engineering (SQL databases, modelling, schema design)
    • Production analytics (scale, rigor, repeatability)
  • Hands-on expertise with modern tools/stacks:
    • Azure ML | Databricks | LangChain | LangGraph
    • Python, C++, Java, and key ML libraries (PyTorch, PySpark, scikit-learn, Hugging Face Transformers)
  • Experience applying AI/ML models in real-world finance/tax operations.
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Data governance, quality assurance
    • Large-scale integrations (ETL pipelines, pipelines engineering)
  • Ability to bridge technical and business needs for tax/finance stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset with data science, engineering and tax professionals.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude and eagerness for continuous learning.
