Data and Reporting Analyst - PowerBI
Full Time, Permanent
Package: £29,000 - £32,000 per annum + annual company bonus
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
Location: Winnersh, (RG41 5TP) - office based contract with flexibility
Are you a Power BI enthusiast who loves turning raw retail data into actionable commercial strategies?
At Smollan, we are the driving force behind some of the world’s biggest brands. We’re seeking a sharp, analytical Data & Reporting Analyst, expert with PowerBI to join our Data & Insights team.
In this role, you won't just be managing and storing sales data, you will be the bridge between complex data warehouses and real-world retail strategy. If you love transforming dense datasets into slick, automated Power BI dashboards that help management teams make brilliant commercial decisions, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Power BI & Visualisation: Design, build, and maintain engaging dashboards, graphs, and visualisations that turn complex numbers into clear, compelling stories.
- Process Automation: Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, setting up and managing automated data processes to eliminate manual repetition.
- Data Mining & Analysis: Mine and analyse large datasets (including sales and field marketing metrics), drawing valid, actionable inferences for our management teams.
- Survey Insights: Design and analyse field surveys, presenting key findings and performance indicators (KPIs) with clarity and impact.
- Data Governance: Support and develop our reporting processes, maintaining robust records management policies to ensure data integrity across our databases.

What We’re Looking For
- The Analyst: Proven experience working in a dedicated Data or Reporting Analyst role (ideally with exposure to FMCG, retail, or field marketing environments).
- The Power BI Builder: Practical experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI. You know how to make data visually intuitive.
- The Tech Stack: Strong knowledge of Excel and Access, with a solid understanding of database structures and data handling (importing/exporting). PowerPoint skills to build stakeholder-ready presentations.
- The Mindset: Strong logical, mathematical, and numerical aptitude with a genuine passion for problem-solving.
- The Communicator: A creative flair for presenting data and the unique ability to translate technical data issues into simple, clear concepts for non-technical audiences.
