Data and Reporting Analyst

Data and Reporting Analyst – PowerBI

Full-Time, Permanent

Package: £29,000–£32,000 per annum + annual company bonus Flexible Working: Monday–Friday, 35 hours/week Location: Winnersh (RG41 5TP) – office-based with flexibility


About the Role

Are you a Power BI enthusiast who thrives on transforming raw retail data into actionable commercial strategies? At Smollan, we’re the driving force behind some of the world’s biggest brands—we’re looking for a sharp, analytical Data & Reporting Analyst to join our Data & Insights team.

In this role, you won’t just manage sales data—you’ll be the bridge between complex data warehouses and real-world retail strategy, designing slick, automated Power BI dashboards that help our teams make brilliant decisions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Power BI & Visualisation

    • Design, build, and maintain engaging dashboards, graphs, and visualisations that turn complex data into clear, compelling stories.
  • Process Automation

    • Identify efficiency opportunities and set up automated data processes to eliminate manual repetition.
  • Data Mining & Analysis

    • Analyse large datasets (including sales and field marketing metrics) to extract valid, actionable insights for management.

  • Survey Insights

    • Design and analyse field surveys, presenting key findings and KPIs in a clear, impactful way.
  • Data Governance

    • Support and develop reporting processes, ensuring robust records management and data integrity across databases.

About You

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in a dedicated Data or Reporting Analyst role (preferably in FMCG, retail, or field marketing).
  • Strong Power BI skills—with hands-on experience building reports and dashboards that tell compelling data stories.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Access, plus a solid understanding of database structures and data handling.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills to create stakeholder presentations.

Nice-to-Have

  • Strong logical, mathematical, and numerical reasoning.
  • Exceptional problem-solving mindset.
  • Creative ability to translate complex technical data into clear insights for non-technical teams.
