Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data / AI Enterprise Architect to lead strategic data and AI transformation initiatives within a large-scale banking environment. This role requires a highly capable architect who can bridge business strategy, enterprise architecture, modern data platforms, and emerging AI capabilities to deliver transformational outcomes.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping enterprise-wide data strategies, defining target-state architectures, and driving the adoption of modern cloud, analytics, and AI technologies across a highly regulated financial services landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Data & AI Strategy
- Define and evolve enterprise data architecture strategies aligned to business and technology objectives.
- Develop target-state architecture roadmaps supporting digital, data, and AI transformation programmes.
- Drive enterprise-wide adoption of modern data platforms, governance frameworks, and AI capabilities.
- Provide architectural leadership across multiple programmes and delivery teams.
Cloud & Data Platform Architecture
- Design scalable cloud-native data architectures leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Define architectures for data lakes, data warehouses, real-time analytics, and enterprise data products.
- Establish architecture standards, principles, and governance frameworks across the organisation.
- Support the migration and modernisation of legacy data ecosystems.

AI, Machine Learning & Agentic Systems
- Shape enterprise adoption of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning capabilities.
- Architect Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and AI-enabled knowledge platforms.
- Provide guidance on Agentic AI architectures, multi-agent orchestration frameworks, and intelligent automation solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure AI platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
Integration & Enterprise Architecture
- Design API-led integration architectures supporting enterprise-wide interoperability.
- Ensure alignment between business capabilities, data architecture, application architecture, and technology strategy.
- Lead architecture reviews, governance forums, and design authority discussions.
- Promote reusable architecture patterns and best practices across the organisation.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with senior business stakeholders, technology leaders, and delivery teams.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes and strategic recommendations.
- Influence investment decisions and technology roadmaps through strong architectural leadership.
- Act as a trusted advisor across data, cloud, and AI transformation initiatives.
Required Experience
- 12–18+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Data Architecture, or Solution Architecture.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale transformation programmes within banking or financial services.
- Strong hands-on experience designing modern enterprise data platforms and cloud-native architectures.
- Deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and associated data services.
- Experience defining and implementing enterprise data governance and data management frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Agentic Systems, and RAG architectures.
- Experience designing API-led integration architectures and event-driven ecosystems.
- Demonstrable experience operating within highly regulated environments.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.

Preferred Experience
- Experience working within Tier-1 Banking or Financial Services organisations.
- Strong understanding of banking regulations, data privacy requirements, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and enterprise risk frameworks.
- Experience with multi-agent orchestration frameworks and enterprise AI platforms.
- Exposure to cloud-native analytics, data mesh, data fabric, and modern data product operating models.
- Experience presenting architecture strategies to executive and C-level stakeholders.
