Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect / Data Modelling Consultant with a strong banking and investment management background to lead the design of target-state reporting and analytics data models within a modern cloud-based data platform.
The successful candidate will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements, analyse existing data structures, define target-state data models and establish best-practice approaches for data consumption across regulatory reporting, management information, analytics and business intelligence.
This is primarily a data modelling and consulting-focused role rather than a platform or infrastructure architecture position.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse existing data models and architectures and define target-state reporting and analytics models.
- Design dimensional, analytical and reporting data models using industry best practices.
- Define and optimise data structures for reporting, business intelligence and analytics.
- Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Establish data modelling standards, governance and architectural principles.
- Support the design of medallion/layered data architectures and data consumption patterns.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, governance and regulatory reporting requirements are considered.
- Provide architectural leadership and consultancy to delivery teams and stakeholders.
- Translate complex business and reporting requirements into logical and physical data models.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
