Data Products Architect | SC Cleared | Contract
Hybrid – London / Remote
£600 per day (Inside IR35)
SC Clearance Required
Digital Skills are looking for an experienced Data Products Architect to join a major data transformation programme, helping to shape and deliver a modern, enterprise-scale data platform built on Databricks Lakehouse.
This is a key architecture role where you'll define the standards, principles, and governance required to create high-quality, reusable data products that enable self-service analytics and data-driven decision-making across a complex organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of data products within a Databricks environment.
- Define data product standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Enable self-service data consumption through scalable and governed platform capabilities.
- Drive adoption of Databricks technologies including Delta Lake and Unity Catalog.
- Ensure data products are secure, compliant, scalable, and cost-effective.
- Provide technical leadership to architects, engineers, and delivery teams.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to shape the data product roadmap and strategy.

Essential Skills
- Strong experience in Data Architecture and Data Product Design.
- Deep expertise in Databricks, including Lakehouse Architecture, Unity Catalog, and Databricks SQL.
- Experience delivering self-service data platforms and data governance frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data modelling, data contracts, and large-scale data management.
- Experience within highly regulated or complex environments.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable
- Databricks certifications.
- Experience with Spark, dbt, or AWS Glue.
- Knowledge of data mesh principles and modern data product operating models.
