Data Architect
About The Role...
Are you an experienced Data Architect looking for your next challenge?
Cooper Parry is on a rapid growth trajectory, and we’re seeking a Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of our enterprise data platform.
This role will play a critical part in shaping a scalable, secure, and high performing data architecture built primarily on Microsoft Fabric, supporting advanced analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision making across the business.
You will bring a strong data engineering background, working hands-on where needed, and act as a technical authority defining best practice across data ingestion, modelling, integration, and governance. Experience working with Salesforce data is desirable, helping to ensure seamless integration between core operational systems and the analytical platform.
You'll be getting stuck into a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities, including;
Data Architecture & Strategy
Owning and evolving the end-to-end data architecture, aligned to Cooper Parry’s strategy and enterprise standards Defining architectural patterns, principles, and standards for: Data ingestion Data transformation Data modelling Analytics and reporting Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on data architecture decisions Microsoft Fabric Platform Leadership
Designing and oversee solutions using Microsoft Fabric, including: OneLake Lakehouse and Warehouse architectures Data Pipelines Spark / Notebooks Semantic models Ensuring platform scalability, performance optimisation, cost efficiency, and security Guiding the transition from legacy platforms where applicable Data Engineering & Integration
Providing technical leadership across data engineering practices, including: Batch and streaming data pipelines ELT/ETL frameworks CI/CD for data platforms Architecting robust integrations from internal and third-party systems Defining data quality, validation, and monitoring standards Governance, Security & Quality
Defining and enforcing: Data governance frameworks Master and reference data strategies Access control and role-based security Ensuring compliance with GDPR and organisational security standards Promoting high data quality and lineage transparency Collaboration & Leadership

In addition to those core values, you should also have;
Proven experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer with architectural responsibility Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric Deep understanding of: Modern data lakehouse architectures Dimensional and analytical data modelling Data pipeline orchestration Strong SQL skills and experience with distributed data processing Experience designing enterprise-scale analytics platforms in Azure Ability to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
You’ll also ideally (but not essentially) have;
Experience integrating and modelling professional services data Familiarity with Power BI semantic models and DAX Experience with Azure ecosystem services (e.g. Azure AD, monitoring, networking) Experience operating in agile product or platform teams Experience designing data architectures and integrations for CRM and professional services platforms, such as Salesforce or similar systems, and understand common CRM and services data challenges, including: Complex relational structures Slowly changing dimensions Data duplication and reconciliation across systems
