Job Summary
This position involves moderately difficult assignments that require judgment, problem-solving, and procedural understanding. Your focus will be on:
- Carrying out substantially routine tasks with independent decision-making.
- Supporting the broader team’s objectives through positions requiring critical ownership of moderately complex workflows.

Responsibilities
Facility / Infrastructure Maintenance
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on-site for facility components, performing repairs and installations based on established operating procedures.
- Monitor and resolve moderately difficult alarm issues in the Building Monitoring System (BMS), exercising judgment while adhering to SOPs.
- Operate and maintain plumbing, fire suppression, safety systems, and critical infrastructure systems under minimal guidance from leadership.
Vendor Support
- Act as a liaison for vendor approved maintenance work, including:
- Briefing vendors at the start of assignments.
- Tracking work status throughout the day.
- Performing work reviews post-completion to ensure compliance with Equinix’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with vendors to update technical documentation for equipment and systems to maintain up-to-date records.

Site Administration & Incident Support
- Maintain site logs for permits such as Maintenance Operation Protocols (MOPs) and maintenance scripts.
- Identify Single Points of Failure (SPOFs) and make actionable recommendations.
- Respond to moderately difficult on-site incidents, including failures, delays, and planned maintenance-related issues.
- Follow established operating procedures with substantial understanding to support on-premise administrative tasks.
Work Orders & Additional Projects
- Execute routine work orders, including circuit installations.
- Troubleshoot and service auxiliary equipment (e.g., office machinery) to minimize downtime.
- Perform minor, site-directed modifications to mechanical, electrical, and specialized systems.
- Depending on demand, contribute to infrastructure projects when necessary.
Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally to resolve moderately complex facility incidents.
- Engage collaboratively with your department as a mentoring resource for junior team members on general maintenance principles.
- Communicate inventory requirements to high-level stakeholders to stock critical parts, ensuring availability when needed.
- Represent the team in infrastructure project reviews or advisory discussions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Typical Education & Experience
- High school diploma (or equivalent level of proven work experience).
- Equinix values experience over traditional qualifications—if you can demonstrate hands-on technical maintenance or infrastructure familiarization, you can be a strong fit.
