Data Center Project Manager
Microsoft Data Center Project Manager (DCPM)
About the Role
As a Microsoft Data Center Project Manager (DCPM), you will:
- Troubleshoot service incidents and manage assigned projects to meet service delivery objectives
- Escalate issues to the appropriate stakeholders to resolve obstacles
- Adhere to safety policies and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of incidents
- Develop a strong understanding of data centre procedures
- Collaborate across multiple teams and mentor colleagues by sharing best practices

Key Responsibilities
- Follow cost-conscious practices to meet budget requirements
- Adhere strictly to all safety and security policies, reporting violations immediately
- Troubleshoot service incidents efficiently, escalating as needed to ensure SLA/OLAs compliance with minimal disruption
- Assess potential customer impacts (e.g., unexpected lockdowns), communicate risks, and implement mitigation plans
- Proactively manage schedules to avoid conflicts, set realistic expectations, and negotiate alternatives with customers
- Maintain strong client and supplier relationships, ensuring clarity, documentation, and alignment of expectations
- Reduce maintenance-related risks, coordinating working hours and plans effectively
- Take full accountability for end-to-end service quality, including availability, safety, security, and customer satisfaction

Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent OR relevant industry experience (College coursework acceptable in place of diploma)
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check (required upon hiring AND every 2 years thereafter)
Preferred
- Experience in critical infrastructure areas (e.g., UPS, generators, HVAC/AHU) or physical IT environments (e.g., servers, SANs, networking, racking/cabling)
- Technical degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
- Certifications: ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network, PMP, ITIL, CDCP

**Key Ranges for Data Center Operations Management
- The typical base pay range for this role in the UK: £46,400 – £80,400 annually
