Data Collector – 12 Months Fixed Term Contract

Mobile Worker – working location TBC within Yorkshire region.

12 Months FTC. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Collector to join the Water Service Delivery team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Water Service Delivery are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

Help to create a thriving Yorkshire that’s right for customers and the environment by accurately reading domestic and commercial water meters while delivering excellent customer service. In this role, you will focus on achieving positive outcomes for customers, colleagues and the business, taking ownership to see tasks through to completion. You will follow established processes to ensure safety and compliance, openly sharing lessons learned and supporting continuous improvement when things don’t go to plan. Taking pride in your work, you will maintain the highest standards at all times, ensuring every customer interaction is professional, positive and customer focused.

Where You Fit In

As our Data Collector you will

  • Accurately read domestic and commercial water meters to support a thriving Yorkshire that benefits both customers and the environment.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, acting professionally and positively in every customer interaction.
  • Take ownership of workloads and see tasks through to completion, ensuring positive outcomes for customers, colleagues and the business.
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company policies, identifying, reporting and helping to resolve hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teams across the business, including Leakage, Smart Metering, Service Operations, Network Technicians and Customer Technicians, to resolve customer queries and operational issues.
  • Support the delivery of the metering programme, helping achieve GSS targets, income objectives and improved meter reading performance.
  • Contribute to strong customer satisfaction and C-MeX performance by resolving issues promptly, reducing escalations and enhancing the customer experience.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality, helping to improve billing accuracy, reduce customer complaints and support continuous improvement across the service.

What Skills & Qualifications You Will Need

  • Awareness of the importance of health and safety in the workplace.
  • Basic level of health and fitness to undertake manual role
  • Ability to work outdoors and in a manual role
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal & communication skills
  • Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team or individually.
  • IT literate/ experience of using IT systems and technology.
  • Prioritisation skills and the ability to effectively manage your own workloads.
  • Ability to use and act upon own initiative to solve and overcome problems/issues.
  • You must also hold a valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.

You Will Also Benefit From Having
