Job Summary
Title: Data & Configuration Management Specialist Location: Barrow-In-Furness, Cumbria Contract Type: Permanent (Hybrid – minimum 3 days on-site weekly) Employer: Raytheon UK
About the Role
We seek a highly organised Data & Configuration Management Specialist to oversee extensive technical data, drive change management, and ensure regulatory compliance within our engineering and operational teams. This role supports Raytheon’s training transformation and in-service support efforts, ensuring data integrity, traceability, and seamless integration between systems and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain large volumes of technical data and documentation, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and accessibility across dynamic environments.
- Leverage advanced MS Excel tools to analyse, track, and report key data metrics.
- Support engineering change processes, documentation, and implementation in alignment with established procedures.
- Apply structured change management and configuration control frameworks (e.g., CMMI or ISO 10007).
- Improve configuration management processes to meet business and regulatory standards (e.g., DEF STANs).
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with engineering, project management, and operations teams.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, quality standards, and security requirements.
- Identify opportunities to optimise data handling, reporting, and control processes.

Required Experience & Skills
Technical Proficiency:
✅ Proven experience in managing technical data in regulated/high-assurance environments (engineering/documentation preferred). ✅ Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (data analysis, complex formulas, pivot tables, reporting). ✅ Familiarity with enterprise data systems (e.g., PLM platforms). ✅ Knowledge of engineering change and configuration management (CMMI, CMII, ISO 10007). ✅ Compliance with defence/aerospace standards (DEF STANs, AQAP, ISO 10007).
Soft Skills & Soft Skills:
✅ Strong analytical acumen and meticulous attention to detail. ✅ Ability to prioritise competing tasks in fast-paced environments. ✅ Effective communication with multidisciplinary defence teams.
Desirable Experience (Adds Value)
🔹 Experience in defence/aerospace/gov’t programmes. 🔹 Familiarity with PLM systems (Siemens Teamcenter, Windchill, SAP). 🔹 Background in in-service support or lifecycle management programs.
