Risk Data Governance & Assurance Specialist

This role, part of the Close Brothers Risk Team, focuses on providing independent oversight and assurance of remediation data. You’ll collaborate closely with Data Engineers to ensure data populations, customer segmentation, and data builds are accurate, aligned to approved remediation journeys, and compliant with governance, regulatory expectations (Consumer Duty and DISP), and fair customer outcomes.
You should have previous experience ensuring remediation data supports regulatory compliance and possess excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide independent oversight and assurance of remediation data populations and segmentation.
- Ensure data builds align with approved remediation scope, journeys, and customer treatment principles.
- Review and challenge data logic, assumptions, exclusions, and segmentation rules.
- Maintain close collaboration with Data Engineers, confirming requirements are implemented correctly.
- Verify that remediation data outputs are fit for downstream delivery, communications, and redress.
- Maintain clear audit trails for all data decisions, changes, and approvals.

Requirements
We’d especially welcome applications from those who have:
- Experience working with remediation or customer harm data environments.
- A strong understanding of data population, segmentation, and quality controls.
- The ability to critically assess complex data logic and assumptions.
- A robust governance and control mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
- Knowledge of how data directly impacts fair customer outcomes.
