Data & Controls Lead

We are seeking an experienced Data & Controls Lead to join the Global Markets Data Management team within a leading investment bank. This role is responsible for driving data governance, quality, and control frameworks across critical datasets supporting front-to-back Global Markets operations.

The role requires a strong understanding of data domains (including but not limited to reference data), controls, regulatory expectations, and data lifecycle management in a global banking environment.

Responsibilities

Data Governance & Quality

  • Define and implement enterprise-grade data governance frameworks across Global Markets data domains (reference data, trade data, pricing, market data, risk data).
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards, rules, and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Drive data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across business and technology stakeholders.

Controls & Risk Management

  • Design and maintain a robust data controls framework to mitigate data-related risks (accuracy, completeness, timeliness).
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory expectations (e.g., BCBS 239, MiFID II, FRTB, Dodd-Frank, EMIR).
  • Lead control testing, audit engagements, and regulatory reviews, ensuring timely remediation of issues.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
