Data Development & Enrichment Lead
Location: Peterborough or Manchester (hybrid)
About the Role
As a Data Development & Enrichment Lead, you will drive the strategic use of enrichment data to support risk & retail pricing, lending decisions, and acceptability. Sitting within the Analytics & Enrichment team, you will support the development, maintenance, and optimisation of empirical data enrichment strategies across our insurance brands.
This role blends hands-on analytics, leadership, stakeholder engagement, and innovation in insurance enrichment to solve business problems and add commercial value.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Innovation
- Identify opportunities for value creation by proactively seeking new ways to harness value from both internal and external enrichment sources.
Methodology & Pipeline Development
- Create enrichment evaluation pipelines by developing methodologies for the continuous assessment of new and existing strategies.

Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with internal/external teams to align on enrichment needs and collaborate with third parties to explore market opportunities.
Analytical Leadership
- Champion analytics and enrichment across the business, providing actionable insights to support decision-making.
Scoring & Model Optimisation
- Own and optimise enrichment scorecards for lending, ensuring models and processes are continuously refined for maximum effectiveness.
Problem-Solving & Business Impact
- Apply creative approaches to tackle complex business challenges and unlock actionable insights.
Tooling & Governance
- Design and enhance monitoring tools to track the performance of existing enrichment strategies.
- Champion data quality and governance, maintaining high standards of data integrity, compliance, and ethical practices.
About You
Essential
- Proven experience in pricing, analytics, data science, or a related field, within the UK personal lines insurance market.
- Strong academic background in a numerical discipline (e.g., BSc Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science).
- Experience in proactively identifying and solving complex business problems using data, with a track record of measurable commercial impact.
- Advanced SQL skills, with experience in Python and/or R.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and strategic thinking to drive data-driven initiatives.

Desirable
- Experience with personal lines enrichment products, including credit bureau data.
- Exposure to A/B testing and optimization techniques.
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Operational Research).
- Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, MS Fabric).
