Data Enablement Manager

Location

Nottingham, Nottinghamshire Permanent, hybrid position with three days a week in the Nottingham office (Tuesday–Thursday) and two days working from home (Monday & Friday)

Core Purpose

Data is at the heart of everything we do. Across our numerous systems, we store, process, and utilise data to drive operations, analytics, and critical reporting—underpinning our mission to help customers and associates succeed. As Data Enablement Manager, you’ll lead a transformative role balancing strategic vision with day-to-day operational excellence, ensuring the UK business’s data remains accessible, secure, and high-quality.

Reporting to the Head of Data Management UK, your focus is on enabling effective data access, risk governance, and control frameworks, while guiding the UK Data Enablement function. You’ll be the bridge between future-focused ambitions—particularly in AI integration—andPutting existing data systems to work efficiently and sustainably.


What You’ll Do

People Leadership

• Inspire and empower a diverse team of data professionals, fostering professional growth and development. • Coach and mentor top talent, building high-performing data teams.

Strategy & Architecture

• Shape the UK Data Enablement strategy and roadmap, ensuring scalability and future-proofing for evolving business needs. • Collaborate with technical and architectural teams to embed risk control principles in new systems.

Governance & Risk Leadership

• Drive a proactive risk culture across the UK team, ensuring adherence to internal policies, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements. • Partner with Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams to anticipate and mitigate emerging data risks.

Advocacy & Stakeholder Influence

• Act as the spokesperson for data management in UK and Global forums, adapting technical requirements into business-aligned outcomes for senior leadership. • Influence cross-functional decisions, translating complex technical concepts for decision-makers.

AI & Innovation Integration

• Identify high-impact AI use cases and establish robust governance frameworks. • Ensure ethical and compliant use of data in AI-driven projects, maintaining regulatory and compliance standards.


Skills & Experience

Required

✔ Proven leadership in people development – Ability to craft a shared team vision, mentor talent, and foster high-performing collaboration. ✔ Data Governance & Risk Expertise – Extensive experience in: • Managing data risks (especially in regulated sectors like finance and utilities). • Conducting data management assessments. • Supporting partnerships with Risk teams/2nd/3rd-line reviews. ✔ Strategic Thinking – Ability to: • Build long-term roadmaps under changing priorities. • Adapt to evolving technología trends with continuous improvement at the core. ✔ Technical Expertise – Strong grasp of: • Data Management Lifecycle (quality, retention, registration). • AI technologies and Cloud ecosystems (e.g., AWS). ✔ Stakeholder Influence & Collaboration – Ability to: • Foster strong relationships across diverse business units and change forums. • Drive consensus-building and strategic alignment.
