About the Role
Data is the backbone of everything we do. We manage multiple systems that store, process, and use data to support operations, analytics, and reporting—all driving our business goals of helping customers and colleagues thrive. Ensuring we have a deep understanding of the UK business’s data management, risk policies, and access controls is critical to building user confidence in data quality and availability.
As Data Enablement Manager, you’ll lead UK Data Enablement with strategic vision and operational precision, reporting to the Head of Data Management UK. Your role spans:
- Cadence between data strategy and daily execution
- Operational assurance of data policies, risk, and controls across the business
- Bridging complex data technicalities for leadership while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards
- Future-proofing the organisation through AI-forward thinking while embedding ethical risk governance
This is a high-impact leadership position that demands both visionary foresight and hands-on expertise—simultaneously shaping tomorrow’s data landscape and safeguarding today’s operations.
What You’ll Do
People Leadership
- Inspire and empower a diverse team, leveraging your experience in developing high-potential data professionals
- Foster a culture of mentorship, coaching, and career growth
- Transform team dynamics by setting a vision that converges technical proficiency with collaborative excellence
Strategy & Architecture
- Partner with architecture teams to embed risk management into new systems
- Design future-proof frameworks responsive to AI-driven change
- Align UK Data Enablement with enterprise-wide roadmaps

Governance & Risk Leadership
- Establish a proactive risk culture across the UK business
- Collaborate with Risk, Legal, and Compliance to enforce internal policies and external data management standards
Advocacy & Stakeholder Influence
- Advocate for data management priorities in high-level forums (UK & Enterprise)
- Translate technical requirements into business-facing outcomes
- Build consensus across diverse teams, change forums, and networks
AI & Innovation Integration
- Identify high-impact AI use cases within regulated contexts
- Develop and enforce guardrails for AI solutions, ensuring ethical and compliant data utilisation
The Skills & Experience You’ll Need

People Leadership:
- Proven success in coaching, mentoring, and coaching professional growth
- Ability to empower teams with clear vision and collaboration

Data Governance & Risk:
- Deep experience in risk assessment, policy enforcement, and regulatory compliance (notably in finance, utilities, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with data governance frameworks and collaboration with inspectors (2nd/3rd line reviews)

Strategic Agility:
- Capacity to develop roadmaps and adapt to changing priorities in rapidly evolving tech environments

AI & Cloud Expertise:
- Solid understanding of data lifecycle (registration, quality, retention) and Cloud ecosystems (AWS)
- Operational knowledge of AI technologies and applicable data ethics

Influencing Potential:
- Skilled in building relationships, aligning stakeholders, and driving change across units
Work Arrangement
- Location: Nottingham office (permanent)
- Hybrid model: Three days in office (Tuesday–Thursday); work from home on Monday & Friday
