Data Engineer
Senior Data & Analytics Engineer
Location: Milton Keynes, England Model: Hybrid (2 days remote, 3 days in office where possible) Fixed-Term Contract (FTC): 12-months / Ongoing (subject to eligibility)
Key Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and build the medallion pipelines on a lakehouse architecture, owning the end-to-end engineering of a migration from the client’s legacy data platform to a modern Bronze → Silver → Gold data model.
- Collaborate with development and business teams to ensure data quality, availability, and alignment with business needs.
- Develop and enhance reporting frameworks, dashboards, and analytics processes, supporting both operational and executive decision-making.
- Identify trends, business opportunities, and drivers through advanced data analysis, enabling evidence-based strategies.
- Support the development of predictive models, customer segmentation, and other data-driven initiatives.
- Foster data literacy by translating complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor analysts and contribute to the growth and maturity of the analytics function, empowering cross-functional data capabilities.

What We're Looking For
- Strong Python proficiency, with hands-on experience using PySpark to build distributed data transformations.
- Solid SQL / T-SQL (MSSQL) and robust data modeling expertise.
- Experience designing and managing ELT/ETL pipelines, with a focus on lakehouse/medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) patterns.
- Experience working with APIs and automated data acquisition tools (e.g., Mozenda) for structured ingestion.
- Advanced skills in Power BI and DAX, including ability to integrate engineered data into clear analytical reports.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in line managerial roles, leading cross-functional teams in data-based transformations.
