Data Engineer
New Permanent Opportunity for an eDV Cleared Data Engineer with AWS Cloud Experience
Location: London (Full-time on-site when required) Salary: £85,000 DoE + bonuses Security Clearance: Active eDV required Industry: Leading National Security Consultancy
About the Role
This position is part of the Insights and Data Global Practice, where you’ll work within the rapidly growing Cloud Data Platforms team. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary group of data and platform specialists, delivering modern cloud-based transformations for clients across various sectors.
In this role, you’ll:
- Design and build data pipelines for analytics and reporting.
- Develop ETL/ELT workflows to move data efficiently into data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses.
- Apply DevOps practices, such as CI/CD, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automation to optimise data engineering processes.
- Craft advanced data solutions that enable informed decision-making for complex business needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Build scalable data pipelines that ingest, process, and transform data.
- Develop ETL/ELT processes using AWS tooling and open-source frameworks.
- Leverage DevOps methodologies to enhance efficiency and maintainability.
- Design innovative data solutions tailored to customer requirements.
Experience Required
Technical Skills & Expertise
- AWS Proficiency:
Requirements include experience with:
- Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, EMR
- Athena, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, SNS, Step Functions
- Programming Languages: Strong background in Python, Java, Scala, and PySpark.
- Data Technologies & Databases:
- Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop).
- Familiarity with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, RDS).
- AWS Data Lake Experience: Expertise in designing and managing AWS S3 data lakes for both structured and unstructured data.
