Contract Data Engineer | Outside IR35 | Fully Remote
Rate: Competitive (Outside IR35): £350 - £400 per day
Location: Fully Remote (must be UK based)
Contract: Initial 3 Months (Strong potential for extension)
We're supporting an exciting technology business as they look to bring in an experienced Data Engineer to join a fast-paced client delivery programme.
This isn't a role where you'll simply sit writing SQL all day. You'll be working across multiple projects, partnering directly with stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and helping drive delivery from end to end.
If you enjoy variety, ownership, and solving data challenges whilst working closely with people, this could be a great fit.
What you'll be doing
- Designing and delivering data solutions across multiple client projects
- Working directly with stakeholders to understand requirements and manage expectations
- Writing efficient SQL and Python to query, transform and investigate data
- Creating database views and supporting data analysis and debugging
- Integrating data from APIs and webhooks where required
- Working with modern cloud data platforms including Snowflake and AWS
- Collaborating across technical and non-technical teams to keep projects moving at pace

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
