Looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team responsible for building and maintaining scalable data platforms that support customer-facing applications and AI/ML-driven products.
Working closely with engineering, data science and product teams, you will design, develop and maintain robust data pipelines, ensuring high standards of data quality, observability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform technologies.
- Develop and optimise data processing workflows using Cloud Composer (Airflow), Dataflow and BigQuery.
- Build monitoring and observability into data platforms using modern tooling.
- Implement robust data quality controls to ensure accuracy, reliability and compliance.
- Collaborate with product, engineering and data science teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
- Support data tracking, ingestion, transformation and monitoring across multiple data sources.
- Contribute to CI/CD processes and infrastructure automation.

Required Skills & Experience
- Commercial experience building and supporting batch and/or streaming data pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, including technologies such as BigQuery, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Dataflow or Apache Beam.
- Experience working with Spark, Dataproc or similar distributed processing frameworks.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience with Java or Scala is beneficial.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
- Experience working with modern software development practices, including Git, CI/CD and automated testing.
- Ability to write technical design documentation and communicate complex solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Data warehouse optimisation (BigQuery, Snowflake or similar).
- Data observability and monitoring tools.
- Looker or similar BI platforms.
- MLOps or machine learning data pipelines.
- Experience working within cloud-native environments.

Contract Details
- 12-month contract
- £350 a day inside IR35
- Hybrid working (London)
- Immediate or short notice candidates preferred
