Data Engineer – Azure / Fabric / Pipelines
Hybrid – 4 days office (Stoke) / 1 day WFH Salary: +benefits
A major UK organisation is investing heavily in its digital, data and technology landscape and is looking for a Data Engineer to join its expanding Data function. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a large-scale transformation, with real influence over how data is designed, governed and delivered across the business.
The Opportunity
You’ll join a growing team of Data Engineers and Analysts working on:
- Cloud migration to Azure & Microsoft Fabric
- Building new ingestion pipelines for a major billing system replacement
- Improving data quality, governance, lineage and operational accuracy
- Supporting the organisation’s move towards a fully data-driven operating model

This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll help shape the future of the data platform and contribute to a multi-year roadmap.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and building scalable data pipelines in Azure & Fabric
- Developing ingestion, transformation and orchestration processes
- Working closely with Analysts, Architects and business teams
- Ensuring data quality, lineage and governance standards are met
- Supporting the integration of new systems and data sources
- Contributing to best practice, documentation and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For

- Experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
- Strong skills in Azure, Fabric, Data Factory, Synapse, or similar
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages
- Understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT, and pipeline orchestration
- Experience working with large datasets and cloud-based architectures
- A proactive mindset and ability to work in a fast-moving transformation environment
