Company Description:

At Quorum Cyber, we're on a mission to help good people win. Founded in Edinburgh in 2016, we're one of the fastest growing cyber security companies in the UK and North America, serving over 400 customers on four continents.

We protect organisations against the rising threat of cyber-attacks, enabling them to thrive in an increasingly unpredictable and inhospitable digital landscape.

As a Microsoft-only security house, a Microsoft Solutions Partner for Security, a member of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA), and winner of the Microsoft Security MSSP of the Year 2025 award, we offer a unified security ecosystem comprised of innovative services, all delivered through our customer platform, Clarity.

In September 2024, Quorum Cyber acquired Canada-based, Microsoft Solutions Partner for Security, Difenda. This was closely followed in December 2024 by the acquisition of US-based, Kivu Consulting, a global cyber security firm with world-leading incident response capabilities.

Role Purpose:

The Data Engineer is responsible for building, operating, and optimising scalable, secure, and reliable data platforms that support Quorum Cyber's business operations, analytics, and customer services. The role focuses on implementing data architectures, pipelines, and integrations defined by the Data Architect, ensuring data is ingested, transformed, and made available in a performant, reliable, and governed manner.

This role sits within Architecture & Platform Engineering and reports into the Data & Quality Compliance Manager. It works closely with the Data Architect to implement approved data architectures, models, and standards, and with Platform Engineering and Software Engineering teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable data platforms. The role has no architectural or release authority but is accountable for the quality, reliability, and operational effectiveness of data pipelines and data platform components in production.

What I Do Is:

  • Implement data ingestion, transformation, and analytics pipelines in line with approved data architectures and models.
  • Build and operate ETL/ELT pipelines to support batch and near-real-time data processing.
  • Develop and maintain data storage solutions including relational databases, data lakes, and data warehouses.
  • Ensure data pipelines are reliable, performant, and observable in production environments.
  • Work closely with the Data Architect to implement agreed data models, standards, and patterns.
  • Collaborate with Platform Engineers to deploy and operate data infrastructure securely and efficiently.
  • Integrate automation and AI-driven efficiencies into data processing and operational workflows where appropriate.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline and platform issues.
  • Support data quality, governance, and compliance requirements through implementation and operational controls.
  • Assist with database administration tasks including optimisation, maintenance, and performance tuning.
  • Document data pipelines, operational procedures, and implementation decisions clearly.
  • Continuously improve data platform reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Stay current with data engineering tools, cloud data services, and best practices.
  • Stay current with cloud data technologies, analytics trends, and emerging tools.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
