Data Engineer (SC Cleared)

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer to join a high-profile enterprise programme. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a complex, large-scale IT environment, supporting and modernising critical Microsoft infrastructure.
This role requires an active SC Clearance and candidates must be available to start at short notice.
The Role
As a Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in the administration, support, and transformation of enterprise Windows infrastructure. You'll work across server technologies, Active Directory, virtualization, automation, security, and infrastructure migration projects while ensuring high levels of operational stability and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP services
- Develop and maintain PowerShell automation and scripting solutions
- Support VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualised environments
- Build, deploy, and maintain enterprise server infrastructure
- Perform infrastructure troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Implement security hardening and vulnerability remediation activities
- Support infrastructure migrations and platform modernisation initiatives
- Contribute to operational support, monitoring, and continuous service improvement
- Produce technical documentation and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders

Essential Skills & Experience
- 8+ years' experience supporting enterprise Windows infrastructure
- Strong experience with:
- Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
- Active Directory
- Group Policy
- DNS & DHCP
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- VMware and/or Hyper-V
- Server build and deployment
- Infrastructure troubleshooting
- Security hardening and vulnerability remediation

- Azure Infrastructure and Hybrid Cloud
- Terraform or Ansible
- GitHub and Azure DevOps
- Linux administration
- Enterprise security tooling and compliance frameworks
Desirable Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications
- VMware VCP
- Experience delivering infrastructure modernisation within large enterprise environments
