Data Engineer - Well funded AI Startup
£60,000 - 70,000 + equity
London, Hybrid (2 days in the office)
This is an opportunity to join an early stage AI company as their third Data Engineering hire. Reporting to the VP of Engineering and working closely with an experienced Principal Data Engineer, you'll play a vital role in taking a live product through its next phase of growth whilst learning from some of the best in the business.
The platform brings together real time data, pricing intelligence and policy insight to deliver transparency across one of the world's most complex global supply chains. Sustainability sits at the heart of the product, with the work having clear real world impact beyond the technology itself.
Following a successful pilot, growing customer interest across the UK and plans to expand into the US, the business is now entering its next phase of growth. Backed by leading SaaS, FinTech and Climate investors, the focus is on strengthening the data foundations that will underpin the platform as it scales and accelerate its longer term AI roadmap.
You will take ownership of production data pipelines end to end, improving data quality and reliability while enabling analytics, dashboards and product features. The role offers meaningful responsibility from day one, alongside the opportunity to learn directly from senior technical leadership and shape how data is built and scaled as the platform grows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
