A leading asset manager is embarking on a cloud-based data transformation and is seeking a skilled Snowflake / Azure Data Engineer to support the delivery of a scalable, secure, and insight-ready data platform.
Experience working in asset management & investment management is highly desirable. Knowledge of Aladdin Data Cloud (ADC) is advantageous but not essential.

3 MONTHS INITIALLY WITH A VIEW TO EXTEND
Responsibilities:
- Platform Development: Support the evolution of a modern data platform by building pipelines and models using Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Snowflake.
- Technical Collaboration: Work alongside architects and engineering leads to implement secure, well-governed, and performant data infrastructure – leveraging tools like Git, Terraform, DBT, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Data Engineering: Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines, transformation logic, and robust ingestion processes from various internal and third-party sources.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Translate data requirements from business stakeholders (across investment, risk, finance, and operations) into technical specifications and data models.
- Documentation & QA: Maintain clean, well-documented architecture and development practices, with a focus on testable, reliable code.
- Analytics & BI Enablement: Support downstream data consumption via Power BI or QlikView, helping to deliver timely, actionable insights.

- Proven experience developing Snowflake data platforms in enterprise environments.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Azure Data Lake.
- Experience with data pipeline orchestration, optimisation, and real-time or near-real-time data ingestion.
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting for complex transformations and data validation.
- Familiarity with Power BI or QlikView for delivering data insights and visualisations.
- Experience with Azure Functions is a plus.
- Exposure to or experience with Aladdin Data Cloud (ADC) is beneficial but not required.
- Previous work in asset management, banking, or financial services is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
