Data Engineer, strong Python and ETL experience is needed for a leading global financial services platform, providing clients with access to a broad range of markets and services across multiple asset classes. The Cross Asset Trading firm's expertise spans Foreign Exchange (FX), Energy and Commodities, Capital Markets, and Clearing, enabling institutional and commercial clients to trade, hedge, invest, and manage risk through a single, integrated platform.

Data sits at the heart of everything they do as a firm. Every trade, client interaction, market movement, and operational process generates valuable information that supports decision-making, regulatory reporting, risk management, and business growth.

As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in transforming this diverse and complex data landscape into trusted, accessible, and high-quality data products. Working closely with teams across trading, clearing, operations, finance, and technology, you'll design and build scalable data pipelines using Python, Dagster, that brings together data from across the business into a unified platform. As a Python, ETL Data Engineer your work will enable analytics, reporting, and advanced data solutions that drive better decisions across the organisation.

Details of the Data Engineer, Python, ETL

  • Pay: £750/Day Inside IR35
  • Location: London City
  • Work Schedule: 3 days a week in the office

Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Engineering
    • Building and operating data ingestion pipelines, handling large-scale file or streaming data and ensuring reliability.
  • Python Development
    • Python for data processing, orchestration, and pipeline logic, with attention to performance and maintainability, as well as observability and monitoring.
  • Workflow Orchestration
    • Experience with Dagster (preferred) or equivalent frameworks (e.g., Airflow, Prefect), including pipeline structuring, scheduling, and dependency management.
