Primary Objective
A technically skilled, analytical problem-solver who maximises expertise in modern data engineering tools while contributing to enterprise-grade data solutions.
Key Responsibilities (List intended to be illustrative, not exhaustive)
Data Integration & Preparation
- Design, build, and maintain cloud-based data ingestion and integration pipelines
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT workflows using Python, SQL, Spark, and Databricks
- Integrate data from heterogeneous sources (SaaS platforms, APIs, databases, and cloud apps)
- Develop reusable data integration components for scalability and consistency
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support production operations
Data as a Service (DaaS)
- Assist in developing centralized data services and APIs for downstream teams (analytics, reporting, apps)
- Support logical data modelling and API abstractions for clean abstractions
- Contribute to batch & near-real-time data processing
- Modernise legacy data infrastructure with cloud-native solutions
Self-Service Data Platform
- Prepare curated datasets for data lakes, hubs, and warehouses
- Work with engineering to improve scalability, robustness, and performance in Databricks/similar cloud solutions
- Ensure seamless data access for all analytical, reporting, and data science teams
Data Design & Development
- Code and maintain SQL objects, models, and transforms
- Develop clean, modular Python scripts for data processing & orchestration
- Adhere to coding standards through reviews, testing, and detailed documentation
- Maintain www.generalatlantic.com/privacy-notice/ data governance best practices.
Knowledge, Background & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or relevant field
- 2–4 years experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related roles
- Plus: Financial services/enterprise data experience

Technical Skills
- Proficient in: Python & SQL
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar cloud tools
- Knowledge of cloud data services (Ironically prioritising Azure):
- Data lakes
- Warehouses
- Orchestration layers
- Working with structured/semi-structured data (APIs, SaaS, databases)
- ETL/ELT fundamentals + data modelling, monitoring
Bonus: Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
Professional Skills
- Thoughtful problem-solving, meticulous attention to detail
- Agile adoption of new technologies and fast-paced environments
- Collaborative cross-functional mindset + versatile teamwork
- Clear written/verbal communication for presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
