As a Data Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporative & Investment Bank, you’ll be part of an agile team focused on enhancing, designing, and delivering secure, stable, and scalable data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions. In this growing role, you’ll execute data solutions by handling the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the experience and skills to evolve in your career.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day support of JPMC’s Adabas & Natural Systems within a data-sharing environment
- Organizes, updates, and maintains gathered data to ensure it’s actionable
- Leverages enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to:
- Accelerate data analysis, clarifying requirements and drafting data definitions
- Validate outputs while adhering to sensitivity and security protocols
- Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted approaches for:
- Improving data quality checks
- Validating models and change routines, ensuring alignment with resiliency and security
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of data system components to implement secure access controls
- Updates logical or physical data models based on new use cases with minimal supervision
- Ensures best practices in stability, integrity, reliability, and availability
- Conducts performance & capacity monitoring, tuning, and management
- Engages in incident and problem management, root cause analysis, and resolution
- Provides advisory and consultancy support to application development teams
- Collaborates with Infrastructure and Business teams to deliver end-to-end data support

Required Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills
- Experience with Adabas & Natural Systems in a mainframe z/OS environment
- Basic knowledge of the data lifecycle and data management functions
- Significant experience with statistical data analysis and ability to select appropriate tools
- Working knowledge of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities, including:
- Supporting data engineering workflows
- Validating AI-assisted outputs (e.g., query suggestions, model summaries)
- Basic understanding of data system components to establish control mechanisms
- Familiarity with JES2 and JCL
- Exposure to CICS, MQ, automation, scheduling tools (e.g., CA7), and security products (e.g., RACF)
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ServiceNow, Zoom, Outlook, and Symphony
- Skills in programming with Natural, COBOL, or REXX
